2016 marks the 16th anniversary of Halton Honda’s participation in the Halton Police Service’s Toys for Tots program.  A program we supply with either a Honda Pilot or an Odyssey to load up full of toys for the season.  We are basically the transportation elves providing the reindeer for the real life Santa’s delivering smiles to children and relief to worried parents in need.

This year, at the kick off event in Oakville, Halton Honda’s contribution was recognized with a plaque commemorating our commitment to making Christmas a little brighter for struggling families.  The plaque not only represents the program’s transportation needs being filled, but also acknowledges our customer and staff’s generous contributions over the years.  Last year, our donation box was over-flowing with toys and this year we’re hoping for the same problem!

This Christmas, with all the newly arrived refugees in our community, the need has never been greater to demonstrate to the world the generosity of Canadians who don’t want any child in Halton to be disappointed on Christmas morning. Constable Jody Dugas, says the program is especially in need of gifts for older children in the 10-16yr old range who often get forgotten. Gift ideas for older children can be found here.  So the next time you come in for service or just to say hello; bring in an unwrapped toy.  Help the Toys for Tots campaign deliver a message of hope that will build self-esteem, motivate children to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
