2019 Honda Pilot: New in all the Right Ways

2019 Honda Pilot: New in all the Right Ways

Entering its fourth generation, the 2019 Honda Pilot sports a new exterior look and good amount of updated interior amenities. This practical SUV is prepped to take on the toughest competition in a heavy segment, and come out top dog.

New for 2019, you’ll discover the Canadian-exclusive trim level Honda calls the Black Edition. This particular Pilot features gloss-black accents, darkened headlights and taillights, black wheels, and red ambient lighting along with red accent stitching throughout the interior.

However, it’s not just the special Black Edition Pilot that sees an upgrade for 2019. Across the lineup, the 2019 Honda Pilot now features a redesigned front grille and a new bumper, as well. There are also available multi-element LED headlights, power-folding mirrors and 20” wheels can be added to the Touring edition (and the Black Edition).

The 2019 Honda Pilot remains one of the few three-row SUVs currently available on the market, which means there’s room for up to eight passengers in there. Access to the third row is made super easy with Honda’s available One-Touch Walk-In feature.

Inside the 2019 Honda Pilot you’ll also discover other notable features like: an all-new fully digital gauge cluster display, as well as a wireless charge pad (seen for the first time in the Honda Pilot). The 2019 Honda Pilot also has available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For those who are a bit more tech-savvy and have children, listen up. The 2019 Honda Pilot has a nifty and kid-friendly app called “How Much Farther?” that works in conjunction with the onboard navigation. The app keeps the kids informed as to how much distance is left via a fun graphic displayed on the rear entertainment system so you can avoid the, “Are we there yet?!” onslaught of non-stop questioning while you drive.

The outgoing 3.5L V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque remains in the 2019 Honda Pilot as does the standard 6-speed automatic unless you opt for the Touring model. In that case, the engine is paired with an updated version of Honda’s 9-speed automatic transmission, revamped for smoother, faster shifts.
