2024 Honda Pilot Trim Levels

Which Is Right for You?

The Pilot is Honda’s largest and most powerful SUV, and for 2024 it’s available in five trim levels. Here’s how to choose between them.

2024 Honda Pilot Sport

The Honda Pilot Sport is the entry-level model of the 2024 lineup and lays down a strong foundation for higher trims to build on. The powertrain is centred around a meaty 3.5L V6 gas engine making fully 285 horsepower and 262lb-ft of torque, passed through a 10-speed automatic transmission to all-wheel drive as standard.

Five drive modes are available to tailor the SUV’s responses to different conditions, with options for Sport, Normal, Econ, Snow, and Tow, with the final mode providing a maximum towing capacity of 2,268kg.

The spacious cabin seats up to eight passengers across three rows, with standard comfort features including heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and tri-zone automatic climate control with humidity regulation and air filtration.

Essential driving data is supplied by a 7-inch colour TFT meter display, with a 7-inch touchscreen display giving access to infotainment functions, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a seven-speaker audio system.

Lastly, all 2023 and 2024 Pilot trim levels include a generous selection of active safety and driver-assist technologies, with highlights including:

  • Forward collision warnings with automatic emergency braking
  • Lane-departure warnings with lane-keep assist
  • Traffic-sign recognition
  • Adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist
  • Blind-spot monitoring for safer lane changes
  • Rear cross-traffic alerts for easier reversing

Pilot EX-L

The EX-L trim retains the same 3.5L V6 powertrain as the rest of the range but adds Sand and Trail options to the drive mode system to give the Pilot a little extra off-road capability.

Enhanced comforts include heated outboard seats in the second row, soft leatherette upholstery throughout, and convenient second-row controls for the climate control system.

The technology selection also gains a few upgrades, with a larger 9-inch touchscreen joined by a wireless charging pad, wireless Android Auto, a nine-speaker sound system, and HD and satellite radio compatibility.

Pilot Trailsport

The Trailsport is the Pilot trim that’s dedicated to off-road adventuring, with standard features including a specially tuned suspension which gives 25mm extra ground clearance, steel skid plates, and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season, all-terrain tires.

The Trailsport also replaces the second-row bench seats with dual heated captain’s chairs to give an extra level of comfort on family journeys, which can be folded flat to increase cargo capacity when needed.

Pilot Touring

The Touring trim adds a host of tech upgrades, including a 10.2-inch digital meter display, colour heads-up display, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and built-in navigation with bilingual voice control.

The upholstery is upgraded to a perforated leatherette finish, with ventilation added to the front-row seats, while a premium Bose sound system now provides audio with 12 speakers.

The Touring trim also introduces the HondaLink Subscription Services package, which provides various remote features, including a parked vehicle locator, remote engine start, automatic emergency services summoning, concierge service, and stolen vehicle recovery assistance.

Pilot Black Edition

Finally, the Pilot Black Edition adds many cosmetic refinements to both the interior and exterior, including a gloss black front grille, 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and deep black upholstery with contrast stitching.
