Entry Level: CR-V LX

The LX trim is the affordable entry-level version of the 2023 CR-V, but it sets a strong baseline for the rest of the lineup to build on. The engine is a meaty 1.5L turbo model making 190 horsepower and 179lb-ft of torque, with the output reaching the pavement via a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Three drive modes are available to suit different conditions, with options for Normal, Econ, and Snow, while the LX also offers a towing capacity of up to 680kg when equipped with the available towing accessories package.

For an entry-level model, the amount of interior technology is impressive, starting with the 7-inch colour meter display with an advanced Driver Information Interface. Infotainment is handled through a 7-inch touchscreen, with standard features including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connections with bilingual voice control, dual front-row USB ports, and a four-speaker sound system.

The LX trim also boasts an exceedingly generous suite of active safety and driver-assist technologies, with highlights including:
• Forward collision warnings with automatic emergency braking
• Lane-departure warnings with lane-keep assist
• Road-departure mitigation
• Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts
• Traffic-sign recognition system

And lastly, heated front seats are standard to give a level of luxury seldom found in this price bracket.

CR-V Sport

The changes in the Sport trim are largely based on cosmetics and comfort. The standard 17-inch silver-capped wheels are upgraded to 18-inch black models, while the interior gains a one-touch powered sliding and tilting moonroof, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and an audio system with six speakers.

CR-V EX-L

At the EX-L level, the infotainment touchscreen is enlarged to a spacious 9 inches, and extra technologies are added, including satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot facility, and a wireless device charging pad.

The standard cloth upholstery is switched out for luxurious perforated leather-trimmed seating surfaces, and heating is added to the second row.

The windshield is now made from acoustic glass to reduce sound levels, all the better to enjoy the upgraded eight-speaker audio system, and extra safety features include an auto-dimming rearview mirror plus parking sensors at the front and rear.

CR-V Touring Hybrid

For the Touring Hybrid trim, the gas engine is changed to a 2.0L four-cylinder model and paired with a powerful electric motor to deliver a combined output of 204 horsepower and 247lb-ft of torque.

Not only does this hybrid offer significantly improved performance, but it does so with a lean fuel economy of just 6.0L / 100km in the city and 6.9L on the highway. For an extra edge to your drive, an additional Sport driving mode is also available.

On the technology front, the infotainment system gains advanced in-built navigation and dual USB ports in the rear, while extra safety features include rain-sensing wipers and a rear camera washer.

As a final flourish, this top-level trim is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels and a chrome-finished exhaust outlet to give the exterior an extra sense of sports dynamism.
