The Honda HR-V has been completely redesigned for 2023 and the change is not just minor, we can tell you. In fact, the model that's coming to dealerships has undergone a complete makeover, so it's more interesting and better than ever. Most importantly, it offers a ton of new features.

A new structure
The chassis of a vehicle is like the human body. The stronger the structure, the more you can ask of it. The old HR-V took advantage of the Fit subcompact's underpinnings, which limited the possibilities a bit. The new HR-V is built on the foundation of the new Civic. It's not the same game, as they say. At the rear, the torsion beam configuration is replaced by an independent suspension.
The Civic's chassis is stiffer and allows for a much more engaged ride. Add to that the fact that the model is more comfortable, too. All in all, it's as if the 2023 HR-V has moved up an entire category in terms of refinement.
A more powerful engine
To go along with this new frame, a new engine has been added under the hood. It's actually the Civic's base powertrain, a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a continuously variable transmission, this unit not only offers excellent performance, but is also very economical in use. And it's reliable; we already knew that, but that's another plus for the new 2023 HR-V.
The luxury level
While changing the structure, the entire interior has also benefited from the progress made with the Civic. Of course, the layout has been upgraded and a well-designed dashboard with a user-friendly layout awaits us. The seats are much more comfortable than they used to be, which will prove to be very positive for long drives.
With some versions, wireless charging for cellular devices, as well as wireless connections to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps are even offered.
