“As our team pours over the Women at the Wheel nominations each year, we are all increasingly impressed by the nominees,” said AutoSuccess Publisher Susan Givens. “It is our privilege to shine a light on these incredible automotive industry professionals.” Nominees for the Women at the Wheel Award were asked two questions:

What is one of your proudest accomplishments of your career?
“When you genuinely enjoy meeting new people with the goal of helping them secure a new vehicle, selling can be a joy. Treating clients as I’d want to be treated earned me repeat business, referrals, and Sales Leadership Awards with Honda Canada.

Although selling cars might have paid the rent for over 20 years, recently I was able to forge a new career path that allows me to channel my industry knowledge with my creative side and market our unique brand to our community on social media, promotions, and newsletters. While the industry was challenged, I’m proud that I was able to help navigate our online presence during Covid and produce content that kept our clientele and staff informed and engaged during the global pandemic.”

Robyn’s deliveries helped keep the helium companies in business.

What is your best advice to other women who want to excel in the automotive industry?
“When I think about young women starting out in this industry, I think about what advice I could have used years ago. Like standing up for yourself and not letting anyone else take the credit for your hard work. Do more than what’s expected and set yourself apart from the pack by demonstrating your work ethic and dependability. Disrupt the status quo and rail against the likability doctrine that says strong women are inherently not likable while demonstrating the same traits a man would. And most importantly, play to your strengths. Everyone is different so chances are that your strengths will put a unique spin on your daily interactions with customers and co-workers.”

Any last words from Robyn herself?
“Yes! I’d like to thank my co-workers for nominating me and also thank YOU for reading the news section on our website and our monthly newsletter! Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Threads, Pinterest and subscribe to our YouTube channel where I live-on…behind the camera.”
